Enberg's voice dominated sports for 50 years, stretching from his start as a local sports broadcaster in Los Angeles, including time calling UCLA men's basketball, until his final full-time sports role as the main play-by-play voice of the San Diego Padres from which he retired in 2016.
For many fans, including myself, we probably remember Enberg for his 25-year run at NBC where he was the voice of the network's tennis coverage, especially Wimbledon, as well as the NFL where he called many memorable moments.
