OIC summit: PM Abbasi urges US to withdraw decision on Jerusalem
  ISTANBUL: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi strongly condemning the US move to recognise Jerusalem as Israel?s capital urged Washington to withdraw its decision. Speaking at the emergency summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) here on Wednesday, Abbasi said that Pakistan and its people stand by Palestine and its people at this moment. He termed the US?s Jerusalem move as a violation of the international laws. Condemning the Israeli forces? brutalities in Palestine, the prime minister said that they had been doing this over the past 70 years. Similarly, Indian forces have occupied the held Kashmir for the last seven decades. Abbasi urged the international community to recognise Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital. On the occasion, the prime minister also put forward three suggestions to address the Jerusalem issue. He recommended that the* issue be raised in the General Assembly in case* the Security Council fails to show seriousness towards its resolution. The* prime minister further said that* the OIC* should also put economic pressure to* end occupation by Israeli forces.
