ISLAMABAD: PPP spokesperson Chaudhry Manzoor has said performing ?Damaal? [spiritual dance] is part of the PPP?s history. He was reacting to the criticism over dances of leaders in the PPP rally. Manzoor said the party founder and former premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto performed ?Dhamaal? at the shrine of Sufi saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. He claimed that the Taliban and Imran have similar stances.
Meanwhile, answering a question after appearing before an anti-terrorism court on Thursday, Imran said: ?I don?t know about the rally but the way Zardari danced, he should conduct these performances more often.? Talking to the media separately, Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rasheed said "obviously what Zardari did seems like a ?Dhamaal? to [PPP leader] Khursheed Shah". "He [Zardari] exhibited his happiness by performing ?Dhamaal?," he claimed.
