No let-up in alertness on eastern border: COAS
ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday expressed his satisfaction over the operational preparedness and response to the Indian ceasefire violations and said that there could not be any let-up in the preparedness for response against the perpetual threat on the eastern border, including the Line of Control (LoC) and Line of Actual Contact (LAC).
He expressed these views during his visit to the Rawalpindi Corps Headquarters, where he was given a comprehensive briefing on the prevalent situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and Line of Actual Contact (LAC). The COAS was also briefed on the operational preparedness of the formations, an Inter-Services Public Relations press release said. Earlier, Corps Commander 10 Corps Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza received the COAS on his arrival at the Corps HQ. Earlier, Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, People?s Republic of China Deng Xijun called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa. The matters of mutual interests, including regional security issues with particular emphasis on the Pak-Afghan border management and CT efforts were discussed during the meeting, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.
