Endomag Magseed Breast Tumor Marker Now Cleared in Europe
 Endomag, a company with offices in Cambridge, UK and Austin, Texas, obtained the European CE Mark to introduce its Magseed injectable marker, a product already available in the U.S. It’s intended to be used by radiologists to mark the location of a Tumor within the Breast so that the surgeon can easily spot during the resection or biopsy even weeks later. The Magseed takes only minutes to inject into the Breast and, once positioned, the patient is free to go on with her normal daily routines. The company promises that the Magseed remains firmly in the same place where it was delivered for up to 30 days.Once it’s time for the lumpectomy, the surgeon uses the company’s Sentimag device to locate the exact location of the Magseed and the tumor. Sentimag is essentially a highly sensitive magnetometer, that doesn’t rely on radiation, that is able to spot the implanted Magseed, which are even smaller than a grain of rice. Following localization, the surgeon is free to decide on the safest and most effective route to take to the tumor, also taking into consideration the aesthetic outcome following the procedure. The Magseeds are purportedly safe even during MRI exams, and are optimized to be also spottable using ultrasound.
