And now, we know why they chose them. In an interview on the Rap Radar podcast Friday, as highlighted by Vulture, Jay-Z finally revealed the reasons behind the choice.*
“Rumi is our favorite poet, so it was for our daughter,” Jay-Z said. That would be in honor of Rumi, the 13th-century Persian poet.*
“Sir was like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that,” Jay-Z said. “He just came out, like, 'Sir.'”
