Transport Network Company (TNC) Uber Systems Inc. on Wednesday said it released about P100-million financial assistance to drivers and operators affected by the one-month suspension. On the basis of their average earnings in the last 28 days, 36,367 drivers received financial assistance from Uber, a lawyer of the TNC told the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB). On August 14, the board suspended the accreditation of Uber for a month as the company continued to accept new drivers into its platform. The LTFRB recommended that Uber extend financial assistance to affected peer-operators during the period of suspension. ? VDS, GMA News
