Imran told me about plan to dissolve parliament: Hashmi
Addressing a press conference at the Multan Press Club, Hashmi appealed that the Supreme Court judges must summon him and said he would repeat his words in the witness box. He warned Imran if the charges levelled against his party of receiving foreign funding were proved true, the PTI would be banned in Pakistan according to the Constitution. When asked whether the Panama Papers judgment was a result of any understanding between Imran and the judges, he said he did **t k**w about it but Imran had revealed about the plans to disqualify Nawaz Sharif much before the trial in the Supreme Court and the formation of JIT. “I have repeatedly been demanding the Supreme Court to summon me in the witness box to expose the conspiracy developed and designed in 2014. The tradition of ‘court martial of civilians’ has been popular. Please court martial me if I lie or convict Imran Khan with court martial for conspiring against the system”, he said. “Please take oath from PTI leaders Arif Alvi, Shireen Mazari and Shafqat Mehmood who came to me. They were looking seriously disturbed ........ They asked to stop Imran Khan [and said] he was going to attack the Parliament. They requested me got to Imran Khan and compel him to avoid attacking the Parliament,” he added. Hashmi said the information perturbed him because the consequences of attacking the Parliament were too serious and therefore he decided to advise Imran against that. But he added that Imran’s reply was the new judges “on the retirement of Chief Justice Tasadduq Jilani would bring our victory closer. The Parliament would be dissolved on the submission of resignation by Nawaz Sharif.” Hashmi said he did **t agree and told Imran that it would be extra constitutional and create chances for martial law. “Imran Khan said, “How it is extra constitutional. The Supreme Court would dissolve the Parliament by introducing its **minated interim government of tech**crats. This setup would continue for **t more than one-and-half-month. The fresh elections would be held at the end of August and the PTI will win majority of seats to form the future government,” the seasoned politician recalled. Hashmi said he left Imran after developing differences over the planned formation of an interim setup comprising tech**crats. Later, Imran told media that he would **t support tech**crat setup on his demand and he rejoined Imran during the long march, he added. According to Hashmi, he calmed down those who tried to attack the long march near Gujranwala. Later in the presence of Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jehangir Tareen, he convinced Imran that the whole system was going to collapse as a result of the march and it would provide an environment conducive to intervention to other forces. However, Imran moments later backed out of his decision to call off the long march and said “they” had conveyed to him that the long march should continued at every cost. Hashmi criticised the PTI chief for displaying the portraits of Pervez Musharraf and described the act as shameful. He added that the Panama Papers verdict had earned criticism across the world and on social media.
