   The gunman who opened fire at Fort Hood on Wednesday, killing three and injuring 16 before turning the gun on himself, was a soldier who served in Iraq for four months. Fort Hood commanding general, Lt. Gen. Mark A. Milley, said the shooter was an Army specialist who was being treated for mental health and behavioral issues.
