افتراضي Beckham: I want to be NFL's highest-paid player

Beckham: want NFL's highest-paid playerOdell Beckham Jr. still has two years remaining on his current contract, but he has sizable expectations for his next deal. The New York Giants wide receiver said in a video posted to UNINTERRUPTED on Thursday that he wants to be the league's highest-paid player. "It's like the elephant in the room, and you don't want to talk about it," Beckham said. "But I've gotten to the point in my life where I'm like, '**, I'm going to ... there's ** need to **t talk about it.' "I believe that I will be hopefully **t just the highest-paid receiver in the league, but the highest paid, period." MORE COVERAGE: Beckham, 24, has had at least 90 catches and 1,300 yards in each of his three seasons in the NFL. He is set to earn $1.839 million this year before his fifth-year option kicks in at $8.459 million in 2018, according to Spotrac. To become the NFL's highest-paid player, Beckham would have to earn a deal richer than the five-year, $125 million extension that Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr received this offsesaon. Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford could be a candidate to surpass that figure, either via an extension or new deal. Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers is currently the NFL's highest-paid wide receiver after signing a four-year, $68 million extension in February. General manager Jerry Reese criticized Beckham this offseason after the wide receiver was photographed partying in Miami with his Giants teammates six days before a playoff wild-card loss to the Green Bay Packers. "We all have had to grow up at different times in our lives, and I think it is time for him to do that," Reese said. "He has been here for three years **w and is a little bit of a lightning rod because of what he does on the football field, but the things he does off the football field, he has to be responsible for those things and we will talk through it. I k**w he is a smart guy, and I believe he understands that he has a responsibility being one of the faces of this franchise, and I think he will accept that responsibility."
