White?s mother, Brigid Sweetman, and ex-husband, Mark Burton, amended their wrongful death lawsuit against Carrey on July 10 to include the new allegation that he ?reneged on his offer? to pay for the late make-up artist?s October 2015 funeral. The plaintiffs further stated that despite portraying the ?grieving good guy? at the ceremony, he ?never paid a dime of funeral expenses.? But Gossip Cop hears from a source close to the situation that Carrey didn?t pay for the funeral, as he initially offered, because he learned her family owns a funeral home in Ireland and were planning to take care of the service themselves. Carrey?s lawyer had requested the funeral claims be ******* from Sweetman and Burton?s civil suit back in December, but they?re moving forward with the complaint. The actor?s attrney maintains the actor isn?t at fault for White?s death, calling the wrongful death suit a ?shameful shakedown for money.? White took her own life in September 2015 by overdosing on prescription *****. One year later, her mother and ex-husband filed their civil suit against Carrey, alleging he provided the celebrity stylist with the pills that killed her. The plaintiffs further alleged the actor gave White several STDs. Carrey will reportedly sit down for a deposition about his relationship with White in August, while a judge has set a provisional trial date for April 2018.
