Don?t risk democracy for power: Khursheed
ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Sunday cautioned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif against putting democracy and the institutions at stake for personal gains and power.
In an interview with a private TV channel, Shah talked of serious consequences if the premier did **t change his attitude as the government’s threatening behaviour is sy**nymous to violating justice. Shah asked the government to refrain from hurling obstacles in the way of justice as it can destroy democracy. The opposition leader asserted that Qatari prince’s letter has ** legal significance. He said that the Qatari prince time and again is avoiding appearing before the JIT. He pro**unced that if the letter is deemed as true, then every corrupt person will bring such a thing. Shah said that those asking to make the JIT details public should tell why the 10-year agreement with Parvez Musharraf was kept secret. He said that the threatening attitude of Nawaz and his family and ministers in Panama leaks case is against the **rms of justice. He said the Nawaz government while putting hurdles in the way of justice wants to repeat the past. He said the effort of PML-N could be harmful for the nation, democracy and parliament.
