Khartoum, March 15 (IANS) At least Seven people were killed and many others injured in an attack by rebel groups against Maleet area in Sudan's **rth Darfur state, Sudan's Ashrouq net reported Friday. "Forces belonging to the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA)/Minni Minnawi faction and the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) pulled out from Maleet town after clashes on Friday. On Thursday, Darfur rebel groups attacked Maleet town in **rth Darfur state and targeted the positions of the Sudanese regular forces on the outskirts of the town. Sudan's Darfur region has been witnessing escalating tribal violence and armed clashes between the Sudanese army and armed groups in the region.
