ISLAMABAD: The government has appointed Tariq Mahmood Pasha, a BS-22 ******r of the Inland Revenue Service (IRS), as chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue/secretary Revenue Division till further orders.
According to the **tification issued by the Establishment Division on Monday stating that “Mr Tariq Mahmood Pasha, a BS-22 ******r of IRS, presently working as Eco**mic Affairs Division secretary, posted as FBR chairman / Revenue Division secretary with immediate effect and until further orders.”
Soon after issuance of the **tification, Tariq Pasha, while talking to The News on Monday, confirmed that the government issued **tification related to his fresh appointment as FBR chairman, and he would assume his new charge on Tuesday (today). When asked about revenue collection efforts, the newly appointed FBR chairman said that he would throw light on this subject after assuming the charge as chairman of the tax collection machinery. However, he said that he would require special prayers to discharge his fresh responsibilities.
Mr Pasha had done LLB from the University of Peshawar and then passed CSS exams and joined government service as Income Tax ******r. He had served on different key positions during his carrier.
