JIT **t to approach SC for permission to travel to Qatar
Sources told The News here on Friday that the JIT can**t take decision on its own to send its team to Doha to record the statement of the Qatari Prince, so it needs permission of the Supreme Court to move forward in this direction, but the political quarters, even Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah, showed opposition to any such move. "The JIT has so far **t submitted any written application to the three-member Supreme Court bench to seek permission to send its team to Qatar and **w it will **t take any initiative on its own and instead will wait for the directives of the Supreme Court in this respect," the sources said. The sources said if the Supreme Court gives directions to the JIT to initiate the process in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the probe body will follow the directives, otherwise, it will **t take any step on its own in this regard. The sources said the JIT first took the initiative when it offered three options to the Qatari prince to record his statement but these options were rejected by the former deputy prime minister of Qatar.
