An**unces to hold session outside Parliament House; slogans of ‘Go Nawaz Go’ raised ISLAMABAD: The budget debate in the National Assembly (NA) is becoming meaningless and losing its importance in the absence of the Opposition members as the chair adjourned proceedings of House three hours before the scheduled time. The Opposition parties walked out of the House after the Speaker and the government did **t accept their demand of live telecast of speech of the Opposition leader on the federal budget. Talking to newsmen outside parliament, the Opposition leader an**unced to set up a session of parliament outside the Parliament House. "We will speak outside parliament which we can**t say inside the House,” Khursheed Shah said. He told newsmen that all the Opposition parties would set up their own parliament outside the Parliament House on Wednesday, saying they would **t return to parliament unless their demand is accepted. Khursheed Shah said that he would only make a speech on budgetary proposals if his speech was telecast live on the state media. He said if the government has the discretion to present its point of view, then the Opposition also deserves the rights to present its point of view on the media. He said parliament represents the will of the entire nation and **body has the right to block the voice of the opposition. Khursheed Shah, while addressing the speaker, said that he deviated from the past tradition and started the debate from members of the treasury benches. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said he would request the government to telecast live the speech of the Opposition leader but he could **t force it. On that, the Opposition leader said the speech of the Opposition Leader in the Senate Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan was telecast live within 10 minutes of directions of the chair. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the government should review its decision in order to make the budget session of the lower House meaningful. "**t giving an opportunity to the Opposition to express its point of view, the government has proved its failure and it also has rendered its own speaker helpless," Qureshi said. Responding to the points of the Opposition leader, Minister of Defence Production Rana Tanvir said that there is a tradition of live telecast of the budget speech of finance minister but that of the Opposition leader on the budgetary proposal is **t telecast live except it was allowed once under special circumstances. He said the present government has given an unprecedented space to the opposition. He said the Opposition leader should **t pursue the course of the party which has ** respect for democracy and parliament. He said the PPP was a democratic party and it should **t stand with the party which did **t take the system seriously. The remarks of the minister triggered a protest from the PTI members who raised slogans of ‘Go Nawaz Go’ before leaving the House. The Opposition also pointed out the lack of quorum twice but on both occasions, the House was found in order. Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi adjourned proceedings till Wednesday when Ejaz Jhakrani of PPP attempted to point out the lack of quorum again. Earlier, initiating the debate on the budget on Tuesday, Rao Muhammad Ajmal Khan of PML-N said that leading world financial institutions were appreciating the eco**mic strides made by the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said the power outages had significantly been reduced and expressed the confidence that loadshedding would completely end by next year. He said incentives should be given to farmers in order to bring the barren land under cultivation. Ghous Bakhsh Maher said the government should cut the prices of fertilizer in order to provide relief to the farmers. He said agriculture research institutes should be strengthened so that quality seeds could be prepared domestically. Shahida Akhtar Ali of JUI-F said the government should frame a policy to bring an improvement in the lives of the poor people. She said expenditure should be cut to curtail the fiscal deficit. Similarly, efforts should be expedited for promotion of investment as it will have far-reaching impact on the eco**my. Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad regretted the stance of the opposition, saying instead of boycotting the proceedings of the house, it should sit with the government to work out a future roadmap for the country's eco**my. He said reforms had become imperative for institution building. Maulana Amir Zaman of JUI-F said priority should be given to the development of backward areas. This, he said, is vital to remove their sense of deprivation. Chaudhry Jaffer Iqbal said the Opposition parties rejected by the people in 2013 elections are scared of the eco**mic vision and policies of the present government. He said despite the hurdles being created by the opposition, the PML-N government will continue to work for the welfare of people. أكثر... ??????? ??????: Pandemonium in NA Opposition stages walkout against budget debate || ??????: ahlam1399 || ??????: اسم منتداك
