Law, Justice Division gets Rs1,200m

Rs1.817 billion for Supreme Court allocated



ISLAMABAD: The federal government has allocated Rs1200 million for Law and Justice Division in for fiscal year 2017-18 in order to carrying out new schemes of construction work with allocation of some Rs882.828 million for ongoing schemes.

According to the Public Sector Development Programme 2017-18, the federal government allocation for the new schemes included construction of buildings with an estimated cost of Rs1479.551 million however Rs1200 million were allocated for the purpose.

As per document, construction of ****** building of FTO with an estimated cost of Rs324 million will receive Rs100 million while construction of residences of the Judges, Registrar, ******rs/official Residence of the Islamabad High Court with an estimated cost of Rs272.830 million will get Rs34.451million.

Similarly Rs100 million have been earmarked for construction of Sessions Division east of Islamabad High Court with an estimated cost of Rs800 million. Likewise, construction of Judges Rest House of Islamabad High Court (Acquisition of land) will get Rs82.721 million.

A total of Rs882.828 million have been allocated for the ongoing schemes. These include construction of Islamabad High Court Rs500 million, construction of official residence of Federal Ombudsman Rs32.241 million, federal programme under Access to Justice Programme all over Pakistan Rs300 million, Public Awareness and Advocacy about dispute resolution mechanism of FTO Rs20 million and Strengthening the Ombudsman System of Administrative Justice and upgradation of online Complaint Management Information System Rs30.587 million.

Meanwhile, the government has also allocated Rs1.817 billion for the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the federal budget 2017-2018 against the outgoing fiscal year's revised estimate of Rs1.704 billion.

The break-up of the allocation is as follows: employees related expenses Rs1340670000, Rs381839000 for salaries, Rs267742000 for pay of ******rs, Rs114097000 for pay of other staff, Rs958831000 for allowances, Rs730941000 for regular allowances, Rs227890000 for other allowances excluding transport allowance, Rs309171000 for operating expenses, Rs45677000 for employees retirement benefits, Rs2500000 for grants, subsidies and write off loans, Rs2000000 for transfers, Rs52000000 for physical assets, and Rs65000000 has been allocated for repairs and maintenance of transport, machinery and equipment, furniture and fixture, buildings and structure of the apex court.
