افتراضي PTI to hold rally in Islamabad next Friday

hold rally Islamabad next Friday ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan an**unced his party's plan to hold a rally in Islamabad next Friday to demand Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation.

Talking to journalists here outside the Parliament House, Imran posed a question: "How will the PML-N confront the public after the comments made in the Supreme Court judgment regarding the prime minister?"

Imran said they had invited the opposition parties to move along jointly on the issue of resignation of Nawaz Sharif. He added that consultations would be held with other opposition parties on the issue of Joint Investigation Team (JIT). He was of the view that the JIT would accomplish its work only if Nawaz Sharif would **t stay as PM.

Had such judgment, he **ted, been an**unced in any other country, the ruling party would have automatically demanded resignation of the prime minister.

"I asked the PML-N supporters, why were you distributing sweets? You should have read the full judgment," he said and claimed it had never happened in Pakistan's history before that such comments were passed against a sitting prime minister.

"All five judges have raised questions asked by the PTI," he said, adding that the apex court had rejected all defence presented by the PM's counsel. "Resign while you are being investigated," he urged the premier. "This is **t an unusual demand".

Imran wondered if it was possible for heads of institutions like the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to investigate the prime minister while he remained in power. "If these institutions had been working, they would have stopped corruption already," he made it clear.

Meanwhile, PTI has decided to file a reference against NAB chairman with Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) with a plea for his removal after apex court remarks against him.

Speaking reporters here, PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said that the party would file a reference against NAB chairman under Article 209 of the Constitution, as he was hand in gloves with the government and protected the rulers’ corruption.
