Mashal Khan case: SC stops PHC from constituting probe commission
 ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday appeared satisfied with the progress Khyber Pakhtwnkha police made in the Mashal Khan murder case and stopped the Peshawar High Court from constituting the judicial commission.A three-member bench at the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar heard the suo moto case pertaining to the cold-blooded killing of Mashal Khan by a mob at Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan on 13th April. When the investigation team is working on the case, there’s ** need to form a judicial commission, the CJ observed. Mashal, a 23-year-old journalism student, was shot and lynched to death by fellow students on allegation of blasphemy. The horrific incident sent shock wave across the country with all the parties unanimously condemning the incident and calling for amending the blasphemy laws of the country to stop its misuse. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, whose party is ruling the province, met with the victim family on Tuesday and vowed to make this case an example for the abusers and said ** one will be allowed to misuse the law next time.
