**t employing proxies, Pakistan rejects US allegations

RAWALPINDI: The Army Chief on Monday told visiting US official that Pakistan itself is victim of state sponsored terrorism and strongly rejected allegations of employing proxies from its soil, the ISPR said in a statement.

US National Security Adviser (NSA) Lt-Gen HR McMaster who called on COAS General Qamar Bajwa at GHQ ack**wledged Pakistan Army's efforts in eliminating terrorists and their infrastructure and assured support to bring peace and stability in the region and globe.

The visiting dignitary was briefed about Pakistan's war on terror and its contributions to regional and global stability, the ISPR stated.

Before coming to Islamabad, Gen HR McMaster had accused Pakistan of employing proxies in Afghanistan.

Talking to Tolo News Gen McMaster said: "As all of us have hoped for many, many years that the Pakistani leaders will understand that it is in their interest to go after these groups less selectively than they have in the past and the best way to pursue their interest in Afghanistan and elsewhere is through diplomacy **t through the use of proxies that engage in violence."

The COAS said that Pakistan itself is victim of state sponsored terrorism and it strongly rejects allegations of employing proxies from its soil.

It was highlighted that distinguished feature of Pakistan's counter terrorism effort is focused against terrorists of all hue and colour, it added.
