Says those doing politics on the issue are awaiting judgment; PML-N to win 2018 elections on performance, will grab even more seats

FAISALABAD: Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb in her interaction with the media at the Faisalabad Press Club on Sunday said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was **t afraid of the Panama Papers case judgment.

She said the people, who had been using the Panama Papers for their politics, were awaiting the court decision, adding that the prime minister had given answers to questions relating to three generations.

The issue was sub-judice and the court would decide the matter according to law, she said. Marriyum said the prime minister's position was clear on the issue and he had himself requested the court to set up a commission for investigating the matter. The government would accept the Supreme Court's verdict, she added.

Marriyum was confident that the PML-N would win the 2018 general elections on the basis of performance and was going to win more seats. She reiterated that people in the coming elections would vote for the parties on the basis of their performance.

She said the PML-N government was trying to fulfill all the pledges made during the last elections. She said the prime minister was the first to an**unce the National Security Policy and build an anti-terrorism narrative.

A positive image of the country, Marriyum said, was projected internationally as terrorist incidents had been considerably reduced after the launch of Operation Zarb-e-Azb. She recalled that the country was facing 16-18 hour power loadshedding during the previous government’s tenure, due to which industries were being shifted abroad. The incumbent government launched power generation projects, which were nearing completion and as per the PML-N promise there would be ** power outages by 2018, she added.

The minister of state said China Pakistan Eco**mic Corridor (CPEC) was a game changer and all the provinces were simultaneously working on various projects. Some 65 countries would be connected through the CPEC with the Gwadar Port being the converging point, she **ted.
