Dar says Rabbani has taken back decision to step down as Senate chairman

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Raza Rabbani had taken back his decision to resign as Senate chairman.

The finance minister said that he had held a meeting with the Senate chairman on the direction of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and conveyed him the message of the premier.

“I assured the Senate chairman that the issue of minister’s attendance in the parliament will be resolved,” Dar said.

He said that the Senate’s session will be called on Monday and Raza Rabbani will chair it.

On Friday, Rabbani had offered the government to step down as Senate chairman to protest absence of ministers from the Senate.
