New KP IGP asks police officials to bridge the gap with public

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of police Salah-ud-din Khan Mehsud has directed police officials to bridge the gap with the general public by sharing own cell numbers in print and electronic media for the purpose.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of District police ******rs (DPOs) held in Central police ****** on Wednesday. DIG Headquarters, SSP Peshawar and all DPOs attended the meeting, said an official handout.

The IGP directed the participants to visit Dispute Resolution Councils (DRCs) in respective districts, meet the members and encourage the public to visit the councils for solution to their problems.

The officials were directed to visit the police Assistance Lines and interact with the staff dealing with the public. They were asked to check the mechanism adopted for finding solution to the problems of the people there.

The DPOs were directed to hold meeting with SHOs and Muharrars, asking them to deal with complainants, especially the general public politely. Earlier, all DPOs gave a detailed presentation about the challenges in connection with law and order in respective districts and the steps taken for combating them effectively.
