Much of that demand — although Airbnb didn't say how much — is also for the Women's March on Washington on Jan. 21, the day after inauguration.*
"Airbnb guest arrivals for the presidential inauguration were initially projected to reach 10,000 and bring in over $3.5 million in earnings to DC-area hosts," Airbnb's public policy arm, Airbnb Citizen, wrote in a blog post Friday.
