Shiv Sena says lesson should be taught to Bollywood star

MUMBAI: Amid the controversy surrounding the inclusion of Pakistani artists in Indian cinema, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj T******ay targeted on Bollywood star Salman Khan and threatened to ban his ****** if he continued supporting the Pakistani artists.

“Jawans are fighting for us at borders. What’ll happen if they decide to put down their *******? Who’ll guard the borders? Salman Khan? Bollywood? These artists (Salman Khan) should realise (that the) ‘nation (is) first’.

If they have so many problems, we will ban their ****** too,” Indian media quoted T******ay as saying.

Further escalating his attack on Salman, T******ay said when Tamil Nadu and Karnataka could stand up for the Cauvery issue, “why can’t the actors stand for the country”.

“It is **thing but business to them. Are we short of artists? They say art doesn’t have boundary. When Tamil Nadu and Karnataka protest over Cauvery water, Tamil artistes came on the road including Rajnikanth. When they can stand for the rights of their states, why can’t these artists stand for the country?” he added.

The militant Hindu leader said it was important to stand united amid such adversities, adding that why it was difficult to find talent in a country having a 1.26 billion population.

Last week, Raj T******ay-led MNS issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Pakistani artists and actors. Incidentally, Fawad Khan – one of the prominent faces facing the threats for his upcoming movie alongside Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – had left the country before the threats were issued. Fawad had reportedly ditched promotions for the film and returned home as his wife is pregnant.

Earlier, speaking at an event in New Delhi on Friday, Salman had said, “They are artists, **t terrorists. It’s the government who gives them work permits and visas. Art and terrorism should **t be mixed.”

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande said Salman needed to be taught a lesson for his statement. “If he has so much love for Pakistani artists, he should migrate there,” she added.

Similarly, a**ther Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, who is also an MP, said Salim Khan, veteran scriptwriter who is Salman’s father, should put his son under house arrest, adding that the Bollywood superstar "blabbers" because ** one in his family had ever died for the country.
