I will **t resign: Sattar
KARACHI: On Nadeem Nusrat's demand to Farooq Sattar to resign as the MQM Pakistan head from London on Tuesday, Dr Farooq Sattar ruled out any possibility of resignation, both from parliament as well as from the basic membership.
He said that the statement from London would **t affect the policies of MQM Pakistan, which will continue the policies an**unced after August 23. When asked about the authenticity of detachment from London, he said one can be assured that **w there was ** link of the MQM Pakistan with London. He said the August 23 policies will continue and all the departments of MQM Pakistan will obey these instructions and policies. When asked about the security issue that he had discussed earlier, Sattar said their leaders needed security and at the moment they did **t have any security. He said the people have shown confidence in them. He said after great efforts, the mayor and deputy mayor had been elected, so they should be allowed to work. Meanwhile, the US Consul General in Karachi, Ms Grace Sheldon, called on the MQM Pakistan head Dr Farooq Sattar at his temporary residence in the PIB Colony here on Wednesday. The consul general discussed with Dr Farooq Sattar the present political situation of the city. Dr Farooq Sattar, talking to The News, said she came to inquire about his health. The political situation of the country and the city was discussed with the US consul general. Sattar said that she also asked how much was the reality in the party's separation from London. Sattar replied for this an x-ray of his body should be taken so that the detachment could be proved. He said issues related to international efforts for restoration of peace in Karachi were also discussed. The MQM Pakistan head also showed great concern over the Indian atrocities being committed on Kashmiris and demanded it should be stopped. Meanwhile, a meeting of all the MQM departments was held on Wednesday to discuss the major decisions taken yesterday regarding London and to take members into confidence. Dr Farooq Sattar presided over the meeting and urged the workers to send the message at the doorsteps of the people that the MQM Pakistan had ** more links with London and **w Mustafa Azizabadi, Qasim Ali and Nadeem Nusrat are ** more members of the MQM Pakistan Rabita Committee.
