Bernie Sanders sparked the idea for 'Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen-X'

You might be surprised to learn this, but the Millennials and Gen X'ers facing off against each other in the 33rd season of Survivor actually do have one thing in common: confidence.

"Both sides feel extremely confident that their philosophical approach to life is hands-down going to dominate the other," host Jeff Probst told Mashable in an interview on the eve of tonight's premiere.

The new season opens with one tribe filled out by age 20-something Millennials and the other by age 30-plus Gen X'ers. The reality competition has been on TV long e**ugh to straddle both generations, so the idea in Season 33 is to see how those differing perspectives fare in competition with one a**ther.
