CHICHAWATNI: PML-N leaders taunted PTI on micro-blogging site Twitter, after the latter lost the battle for NA-162 on Monday.
In a number of tweets, the PML-N leadership hailed their party's victory while dismissing Imran Khan's electioneering as 'vilely slanderous campaigns'. This is what Maryam Nawaz tweeted:-
Results from 280 polling stations out of total 293 showed that PML-N candidate Tufail Butt secured 72,733 votes, defeating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan People’s Party.
PTI candidate Rai Murtaza bagged 60,856 votes and PPP’s Shahzad Saeed Cheema managed to get 15,707 votes.
The seat fell vacant after PTI MNA Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan was disqualified by the Supreme Court for concealing his assets.
