Police take MQM leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan into custody *
KARACHI: Police on Friday took MQM Pakistan leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan into custody.
SSP Malir Rao Anwar arrived at the residence of Khawaja Izharul Hassan in Buffer Zone area and took him into custody. Khawaja was handcuffed and taken away in an armoured vehicle. Earlier, Police had conducted raid on the house of MQM Pakistan leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan in search of two suspects. SSP Malir Rao Anwar had confirmed Police raid, however, he said Police party led by SHO Sohrab Goath arrived in Buffer Zone area in search of Raees Mama and his accomplice, who is wanted in May 12 carnage. Police on a tip-off conducted raid in the street of Khawaja Izhar’s residence where they were informed the suspects were hiding in a house. When the party reached the spot, area people told them that suspects are hiding in a house. Police were **t aware the house belongs to Khawaja Izharul Hassan at the time of raid, Rao Anwar added. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has suspended the Station House ******r (SHO) Sohrab Goath for raiding the house of Khawaja Izharul Hassan, who is also opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly. The raid was conducted at a time when Khawaja Izhar was meeting with CM Sindh at CM House. Speaking to media, MQM leader alleged that Police party harassed women of his family and searched the house.
