Afghan soil should **t be used for anti-Pakistan activities: Lodhi
NEW YORK: Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lohdi, said on Wednesday that Afghanistan's soil should **t be used for anti-Pakistan activities.
Addressing the United Nations Security Council, Lodhi said that Pakistan was exercising restraint on certain statements that were being issued from Kabul. "Pakistan is exercising patience on allegations from certain quarters in Kabul," she said during her address. Maleeha Lodhi said that Afghanistan's soil should **t be used for anti-Pakistan activities and said that the Islamic Republic was ready to cooperate with Afghanistan to establish peace. "Powerful international forces waged a war in Afghanistan for 15 years," she said. "** other option is more suitable for peace than negotiations," she added. Lodhi said that peace in Afghanistan could **t be attained by any military option. She said that Pakistan would **t allow its soil to be used for the Afghan war and reminded the world that the country was hosting Afghan refugees since decades. "We have told Afghanistan government that allegations will harm the peace of the region," she said. "The path to peace in Afghanistan is difficult yet **t impossible. It is up to the Afghan people to determine which path they would choose," she said.
