Suicide bomber blew himself when I shot him: injured policeman

SHIKARPUR: The injured policeman, who prevented a Suicide bomber from carrying out a colossal attack at an Imambargah, said on Wednesday that the attacker had blown himself up when he had shot him from a distance.

Nazar Muhammad, the injured guard who foiled a major terrorism bid at an Imambargah in Shikarpur on Eid, lost an eye and his leg during the attack. The injured policeman said that he had identified the Suicide bomber from a distance and had tried to stop him with the help of a**ther cop.

However, when faced with ** other alternative, he shot the Suicide bomber who then blew himself up. Nazar Muhammad sustained injuries on his arm, leg, stomach and eye. He is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital in Karachi.

The incident had taken place at Khanpur Imambargah and had caused injury to three policemen. Two Suicide bombers had tries to detonate themselves and according to Nazar Muhammad, at the time, there were 5,000 people praying in the Imambargah.

Police and residents, however, were able to prevent a**ther attack as they stopped the other Suicide attacker.

Jamaat-ul-Ahrar claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack.
