Lunar eclipse in Pakistan on Sept 16 *

ISLAMABAD: The Lunar eclipse will occur night between September 16 and 17, 2016 which would be also visible in Pakistan.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said this Lunar eclipse will be the last Lunar eclipse of the year 2016.

The Penumbral eclipse of Moon will be visible from Europe Africa Asia Australia and West Pacific. The eclipse would begin at 21:55 PST on September 16 and the greatest eclipse will be at 23:55 PST.

It would end at 01:54 PST on September 17.

Lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly behind the Earth into its umbra. This can occur only when the sun Earth and moon are aligned exactly or very closely so with the Earth in the middle.
