Banners with threatening messages*once again pop up in Karachi
Banners with the slogan ‘Jo mulk ka ghaddar hay, wo mout ka haqdar hai’ (traitors of the country deserve death) appeared in several areas, including Sharae-e-Faisal, the main artery of the city. MQM leader Farooq Sattar said the Banners were being placed by unk**wn persons and political parties had to be empowered for peace in Karachi. On September 5, a banner which read ‘Jo Quaid-e-Tehreek ka ghaddar hay, wo mout ka haqdar hay’ (traitors of the movement's founder deserve death) were seen hanging on a fence outside the Sindh High Court. The banner was ******* after news flashed on local television channels. On the same day, Banners were also seen in the nearby Saddar commercial area. The Banners in Saddar's Regal Chowk area carried slogans against Farooq Sattar and the MQM Pakistan Rabita Committee. It was unclear as to who was behind the banners. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah ordered the IG Sindh and Rangers officials to take immediate action. Strict action should be taken against those trying to spread intolerance and hatred, he said. The CM directed law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to probe the matter and identify the elements behind it.
