KP CM wants level-playing field for all federating units

**WSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Sunday asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to provide equal opportunities of development to all the federating units of the country. Speaking at a public meeting in Pir Sabaq, Khattak accused the federal government of spending most of the state resources on projects in the Punjab.

“(Prime Minister) Nawaz Sharif’s governance style shows that he has ** interest in addressing problems of other provinces as he appears to be the prime minister of Punjab,” he believed.He questioned the government’s decision to opt for the expensive fuel oil power generation instead of hydel power.

The chief minister alleged that the federal government was stealing 600 megawatt electricity and much of the natural gas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “The federal government would be made accountable for the theft of the natural resources of the province,” he added.

Pervez Khattak asked the federal government to stop the unscheduled loadshedding and overbilling and give the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa their due electricity share. He warned of a protest campaign against the Water and Power Development Authority if it did **t improve its infrastructure in the province. The chief minister said he would lead the protest which would continue till the federal government accepted the provincial demands.

Pervez Khattak said that the corruption in the ranks of political leaders had developed a culture of misdeeds in the country. “Corruption, commission and exploitation have become a **rm in Pakistan,” he claimed.

He said that **body should expect smooth functioning of the administrative machinery in the country when appointments, promotions and transfers were made on nepotism or bribery. Lauding the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leadership, he said that JI was their partner in the province and that their coalition partners were helping them in the fight against corruption.

Earlier, JI local leader and district councillor Nazid Ali, Bashar Khan, Fazal Mehmood and district councillor Wisal Khan joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
