TIMERGARA: Lawmakers from Lower Dir and local government representatives on Thursday visited Koto hydelpower project and expressed satisfaction on pace of work.
The visitors included JI Lower Dir chief and Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Aizazul Mulk Afkari, MNA SahibzadaYaqoob Khan, District Nazim Muhammad Rasool Khan, members of the district and tehsils councils.
project Director Niamat Khan briefed the lawmakers and informed them that a total of Rs14 billion would be spent on the project, to be completed by February 2019, and it would generate 41 megawatts electricity with annual income of Rs1.95 billion.
He said the total length of the tunnel was 1.88 kilometres, out of which 900.13 meters had so far been constructed. Talking to local journalists on the occasion, the lawmakers observed that the mega project would have positive effects on lives of people of Dir and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
