Nawaz assures development, terms CPEC as 'game-changer'
KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will come for an official one-day visit to the metropolis on Friday in order to attend the launching ceremony of a warship in the Pakistan Navy.
The Prime Minister was received on the airport by Sindh Gover**r Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. The Prime Minister will offer Friday prayers at the Gover**r House. Sources disclosed that Nawaz Sharif is also expected to take part in a National Bank Youth Loan event. He will be briefed regarding the performance of the National Bank as well during his visit. The main purpose of his visit is to attend the launching ceremony of a fleet-tanker into the Pakistan Navy. The fleet-tanker weighs in at 17,000 tonnes and is capable of supplying logistic support as well as partake in relief operations and provide medical assistance. The warship fleet was completed two months earlier than the time it was expected to take by the Karachi shipyard. Addressing the launching ceremony, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the warship fleet was an Independence Day gift for the nation. He said that Pakistan and Turkey enjoyed brotherly relations and these ties would continue to deepen in future. "We want to strengthen our ties more with Turkey," said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. "The friendship between Pakistan and Turkey has endured challenges of every kind," he added. PM Nawaz said that Pakistan possessed the brilliant strength of the youth. The Premier also guaranteed progress for Pakistan in the upcoming days. "I assure you, a new chapter of development will begin from Karachi to Gwadar," he said. Terming the China-Pakistan Eco**mic Corridor as a 'game-changer', Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif said that there would be ** compromise on the country's strategic policy. He said that ships laced equipped with missile tech**logy were also constructed at the shipyard. Nawaz Sharif prayed for the success and progress of the warship fleet and Karachi shipyard.
