LONDON: A former paralysed student of Army Public School (APS), critically injured during the terror attack on the school, has credited Malik Riaz with his miraculous recovery one year after arriving here for treatment at the Harley Street Clinic.
In a miraculous turnaround, Ibrahim Khan is **w able to walk on his own, he cycles in the local towns and helps his parents with fetching groceries from the local shops in East London. This was all unthinkable a year ago when he had reached in London, parlaysed down to his waist, traumatised and hopeless. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was left almost completely paralysed when Taliban terrorists attacked the APS and opened fire on school staff and children. 145 people were martyred in the attack, including 132 schoolchildren, ranging between eight to eighteen years of age. Dozens of students were injured in the attack, some of them paralysed for life, and Ibrahim was amongst those critically injured after receiving multiple bullet injuries. Ibrahim got multiple injuries, including spine and gut, which left him weak in his legs, leading to loss of bladder and bowel control. Ibrahim looks happy and healthy and says he is slowly overcoming the trauma and the shock that haunted him for several months after the attack. Ibrahim’s treatment in London became possible after Ibrahim’s father Muhammad Khan Afridi managed to meet Malik Riaz and convinced him to help the treatment of his son. Malik Riaz initially paid £71,000 (over Rs11 million) to the Harley Street Clinic and separately paid travel and visa expenses for Ibrhaim, his parents and young sister. The family **w lives in East London’s Barking area and both Ibrahim and his sister attend a local school. Afridi told The News that Malik Riaz paid for their expenses in London for nearly a year and helped the family regain control of their lives. Ibrahim invited Geo News to his house and explained how doctors in London did everything they could to treat him. “Doctors have been very kind and good. I get regular therapy and I am happy with my life again. I see on TV that there is lot of negative talk about Malik Riaz but **body k**ws that it was Malik Riaz who helped me regain my life. Allah saved my life and sent Malik Riaz to me as a messiah who held my hand when there was ** one to look after me,” he said. Ibrahim’s parents were informed by a team of doctors inPakistan that there was ** treatment available for the kind of complex spinal injuries in any part of the world. Muhammad Khan Afridi said that Ibrahim would **t have been able to survive if Malik Riaz had **t intervened and sponsored his treatment. “Everyday that I look at my son, it reminds me of Malik Riaz and how he played role in saving my son from the complete ruin. To the world he can be anything but to me he is an angel and we, as a family, pray for him everyday. There are some people who talk negatively about him but they are **t aware that he deeply cares about poor people, the destitute and the helpless.” Ibrahim had arrived in London on August 19, suffering from trauma and deep wounds which were badly infected. Top Pakistani surgeon Malik Irfan treated him at the Harley Street clinic. Dr Irfan Malik, who is k**wn widely in the UK for his expertise in the areas of spine injuries, spine tumours including spine cancers and keyhole spine surgery, said that Ibrahim had reached London in a bad condition. “I am glad that he has recovered fast. He is going to school and slowly settling in local life. The kind of trauma he suffered, its effects will last for long and it will have impact on his physical and mental health but he is getting a great treatment. He has been positive and resilient. Malik Riaz did play a huge part in saving his life.” Ibrahim’s mother said that she is overjoyous that her son has stopped using wheel chair. “I cry with happiness every time when I see him cycling, walking on his own. He may **t ever be able to walk like he did when the terrorists struck but we are lucky that he was saved from the complete paralyses and a life of total dependence.” أكثر... ??????? ??????: APS victim credits Malik Riaz with his miraculous recovery || ??????: ahlam1399 || ??????: اسم منتداك
