ECP issues **tice to PM over disqualification reference *
ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued **tice to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for September 06 over disqualification reference filed by opposition.
The electoral body, in the **tice, asked PM Nawaz Sharif to submit reply in the ECP till September 06. **tices are also issued to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and captain (retd) Safdar and other respondents. Sources said the Premier will submit his respond in the ECP through his counsel. The commission also issued **tice to PTI Senator Liaquat Khan Tarkai. Opposition parties Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Awami Muslim League had filed for disqualification of PM Nawaz and others over Panama leaks allegations against the family of the Premier. A full bench of ECP, headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Mohammad Raza Khan heard identical petitions. All the petitioners completed their arguments after that the commission issued **tices to respondents. Earlier, Latif Khosa, the opposing attorney, stated that when the offshore companies were formed, Hussain Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz were mi**rs. Khosa also said that the Prime Minister had issued a false statement when he claimed that he had sold his steel mill in Saudi Arabia to purchase flats in London. He further said that the Prime Minister had also **t disclosed his offshore companies in his **mination papers. Khosa said that the PM was the real owner of the offshore companies hence he had given a false statement. Latif Khosa also said that the flats in Park Lane were bought in 1993 and 1995. Hence, the statement that the steel mill was sold in Saudi Arabia and then flats in London were bought, was false.
