Sarmad Khoosat to receive Pride of Performance Award

Sarmad Sultan Khoosat needs ** introduction. From directing Humsafar and Mor Mahal to working in and as Manto, Khoosat is one of the most remarkable artists working in Pakistan today. And so, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the actor-director is set to receive the Pride of Performance Award.

Expressing his gratitude over the news, Khoosat **ted in a press statement, “It is extremely overwhelming [and] ** words of gratitude will suffice the love, acceptance and appreciation my country and people of my country have showered me with. I hope and pray that I don’t let them down, ever. I will be eternally indebted to this mitti.”

Having directed some of the most popular TV plays of the decade such as Humsafar and Shehr-e-Zaat, Khoosat bagged multiple awards for his last release Manto, the biopic based on the life of Urdu literary giant, writer Sadat Hassan Manto.

Other than Khoosat, those who have made the list include singing legend Humera Channa. The Lahore-based singer is an Award winning artist who has represented Pakistan on various international platforms.

A total of 49 people will be ho**ured with the Pride of Performance Award at the inauguration ceremony that is scheduled to take place on March 23 (Pakistan Day), like every year.

The Pakistani Civil Awards are k**wn to be one of the most prestigious awards that are presented to civilians who have made the nation proud with their outstanding work in various fields.
