   You can learn a lot about a city by the way its inhabitants cross the street. In Prague, jaywalking when a pedestrian traffic light blinks red will elicit glaring frowns, even if there are ** cars in sight. In Japan, this same act will turn you into a social pariah. In Vietnam and Malaysia, the only way to cross the street is to hold up your hand and blindly walk into oncoming traffic while praying the cars and motorbikes will swerve to avoid you. (They do.) Over the past year, I've become well versed in blind trust, and **t just from my experiences with crosswalks. In May 2015, I signed up to be one of 70 people to beta test a startup-meets-social-experiment shuffling a group of global professionals on a 12-month, 12-city journey around the world.
