Google pays homage to victims of Quetta bomb blast
Worldwide popular search engine Google paid homage to the victims of the Quetta bomb blast which killed more than seventy people on Monday.
Google showed solidarity with the victims of Monday's Quetta bomb blast by demonstrating a candle on their Pakistani homepage. More than 70 people were killed and scores of others were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the Quetta Civil Hospital. A large number of lawyers were present at the time of the attack since the Balochistan Bar Association president Anwar Kasi had been gunned down earlier that morning and his body had been brought to the hospital. As the carnage in Quetta ensued, Facebook also activated its 'Safety Check' option, which is aimed to let people k**w whether or **t those present at the scene of the incident are safe or **t. When one moves the cursor of the mouse towards the candle, a message appears on the screen:- "In memory of the victims in Quetta". This is **t the first time that Google has paid homage to anything related to Pakistan. Earlier this year, when globally re**wned Pakistani philanthropist and social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi passed away, the search engine placed a link on its homepage which displayed information about Edhi on a separate window.
