Senate to celebrate its Foundation Day tomorrow
ISLAMABAD: The Senate will celebrate the Senate Foundation Day on August 06 to pay tribute to the framers and founders of the Senate of Pakistan.The Senate Chairman, Mian Raza Rabbani, has summoned the upper House of Parliament for one-day sitting on Friday in after**on.
To mark the day, a number of activities have been planned which include: A special inter-provincial seminar will be organised on on the occasion at a local hotel; The Senate chairman, deputy chairman, former Senate chairmen Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, speakers of the four provincial assemblies, leader of the House and leader of the opposition will be speaking. Special books, prepared by Senate Secretariat, will be launched during the seminar.Special TV and radio programmes for this memorable day have been planned. Special news supplements will be published in national dailies. The Secretary Senate, Amjed Pervez Malik, has been supervising all the arrangements being made to highlight the significance of this historic day. Pursuing last year’s practice, this day will be marked to reaffirm the Senate’s commitment to work for the cause of unity through diversity among the federation and its units.
