LAHORE: Punjab Bar Council has requested Pakistan Bar Council to allow students who were about to complete their graduation in year 2016-17 to do three-year LLB instead of five years programme.
Legal Education Committee of Punjab Bar Council headed by its Chairperson Farrukh Ijaz Baig made this recommendation after deliberations on hundreds of applications of students seeking extension in three-year LLB programme.
The committee recommended that two years extension should be given to the students who were doing their graduation in year 2016 and 2017. The extension would be helpful for the students who were about to complete their graduation to save their two years. The committee further recommended that five-year LLB programme should be enforced after 2017.On January 24, 2016, Pakistan Bar Council enhanced the duration of law education from three to five years.
