Pakistan, India agree to stop ceasefire violations
Rangers, BSF discuss border management matters
LAHORE: Pakistan and India have agreed on **t violating the ceasefire along the border, as the two-day bi-annual talks between the Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) were held at the Punjab Rangers’ headquarters in Lahore on Wednesday. According to a spokesman of the Punjab Rangers, matters related to border management and improving the coordination between the two forces came under discussion. The host delegation was led by Maj. Gen Umar Farooq Burki while the Indian contingent was headed by BSF Director General KK Sharma. Representatives from the interior ministry, the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), Anti-Narcotics Force and the Survey of Pakistan also took part on the opening day of the discussions, he added. The DG-level talks between the two sides are a bi-annual affair, but many a time these meetings have **t taken place due to a strain in relations between the South Asian nations.
