KP govt to sign accords with FWO for development schemes
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would sign agreements with the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) for a cluster of development schemes in the province.
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at a meeting at the Chief Minister’s House on Wednesday said that the agreements would be signed on August 1.The schemes included three hydro power stations in Chitral that will produce 900-megawatt electricity and one in Balakot having the capacity of producing 400-MW electricity, two housing schemes, oil refinery and a cement industry and some other projects to be initiated in the current fiscal year. These projects would be undertaken under a joint partnership and the provincial government would make necessary legislation to facilitate the expeditious implementation of these schemes, said a handout. Pervez Khattak directed officials to make different packages of schemes being negotiated with the FWO so that formal agreement could be concluded for rapid development of the province. He said the schemes would create jobs and generates eco**mic activities.
