Tensions persist in occupied Kashmir as protest enters 12th day
Indian government's curfew in some areas of occupied Kashmir continued as Kashmiris continued to observe strike twelve days after Burhan Wani's killing. The Indian army has resorted to martyring 48 in**cent Kashmiris ever since protests erupted. Kashmiris are marking a Black Day against the atrocities of the Indian government and army. The Black Day in support of the citizens of Kashmir is being observed across the world, including in Pakistan. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ordered all government officials in Pakistan to wear black armbands as a sign of protest against the injustices of the Indian government in occupied Kashmir. Transport and communication remained suspended in Kashmir Valley as citizens faced difficulties owing to lack of food and medicine. Mobile phone and internet services were also disbanded in the valley, to discourage people from using social media to propagate the message of freedom.
