Honest judicial officials are my favourites: LHC CJ
LAHORE: Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court Syed Mansoor Ali Shah has said competent and Honest judicial ******rs were his favourites.
The chief justice told the judicial ******rs that he had created an advisory committee comprising judicial ******rs representing all tiers of district judiciary to communicate with the district judiciary and to address its problems. He said the members of the advisory committee were selected on merit and would be rotated to ensure transparency. He briefed the judicial ******rs that transparent, open and meritorious promotion and transfer policies shall be crafted to ensure elimination of a**malies in promotions and transfers of judicial ******rs. He said the district judiciary was the backbone of the justice delivery system being the front-line courts and that he had a vision to strengthen the district judiciary enabling the litigant public to reap the fruits of justice. He was speaking at an award-distribution ceremony on Wednesday aimed at encouraging the members of the district judiciary Punjab who had rendered outstanding judicial duties. Senior puisne judge Mr Justice Shahid Hameed Dar, Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali, Justice Muhammad Anwaarul Haq, Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan, Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh, Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan, Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa, Justice Syed Muhammad Kazim Raza Shamsi, Justice Atir Mahmood, Lahore High Court Registrar Khursheed Anwar Rizvi, member Inspection Team Lahore High Court Sardar Tahir Sabir and DG Punjab judicial Academy Ms Uzma Chughtai also attended the ceremony. Besides, a large number of judicial ******rs including district and sessions’ judges, additional district and sessions’ judges, senior civil judges and civil judges were also present. The chief justice emphasised that transparency, merit, openness and neutrality will be the fundamental values in all spheres of judiciary of Punjab. He further said in Punjab the ratio of cases per judge was very high which was **t according to the international standards. While sharing his reformatory vision with the judicial ******rs, the chief justice said he wanted to achieve the objective of targeted strategic growth of the district judiciary. He said his prime objective was to make the district judiciary strong and functional. The chief justice said he had made a special supervisory committee for female judicial ******rs and that he won’t spare any indecent behaviour with the female judicial ******rs. While explaining his vision further, the chief justice said he had started bringing his own house in order and earlier 27 judges from the district judiciary who had questionable reputation had been made OSDs. He also told the participants that he had picked 22 judges from the field and had sent them for training where they would be required to pass a rigorous examination to continue service. He further said the new system for performance evaluation would be put in place to ensure effective monitoring of the district judiciary. Addressing the district and sessions’ judges, the chief justice urged them to support him in his vision by writing fair, fearless and accurate annual confidential reports of the judicial ******rs. The chief justice also apprised the participants that ****** of Member Inspection Team of the Lahore High Court would be refashioned in such a manner that the complaints would be dealt with within certain time span. He said the MIT ****** shall be open to people and shall ensure that the people who are the main stakeholders of the judicial system get the fruits of justice. He said CCTV cameras shall be installed in courts all over Punjab to effectively monitor the running of the system.
