Provinces ig**re facts over KBD construction: Wapda chairman
He was briefing the participants of a panel discussion on KBD organised by Pakistan Engineering Congress (PEC) here Tuesday. PEC President engineer Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain also expressed his views. While discussing water related issues, he said, “we should focus on truth rather than blaming each other.” He said the Provinces blame each other but ig**red the facts while discussing the prospects of the construction of KBD. Zafar said that everywhere in the world water relating issues were controversial. He said lack of trust among Provinces was the biggest hurdle in the construction of KBD. He said that sometimes there were ** facts in the stories which were made and these stories overshadowed the facts. He said that he had faced ** criticism from the stakeholders of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhaw on his writings on KBD. He said that only some MNAs criticised him in the National Assembly on his writings on KBD. He said that up till **w he had **t faced any criticism from Sindh Abad Kar Board and Sindh Agriculture Board which were the vibrant representative bodies of farmers of Sindh. Zafar Mahmood said that if Sindh had objection to the construction of KBD, Sindh should be given a more powerful role in IRSA. He stressed on developing inter-provincial consensuses on the controversial issues.
