Former PM Yusuf Raza Gilani, his son call on COAS
RAWALPINDI: Former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, along with his son Ali Haider Gilani, called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif here on Monday. Yusuf Raza Gilani thanked the COAS for his efforts leading to the recovery of his son. Ali Haider, who spent three years as a Taliban prisoner, told the army chief General Raheel Sharif that his captors feared him the most. He also called him a brave soldier.Ali Haider was recovered in a joint operation by the Afghan and US forces in Ghazni in May, three years after he was kidnapped from a pre-election rally in Multan. He was abducted by suspected Taliban militants in a hail of gunfire from the outskirts of Multan on May 9, 2013, two days before the general elections in which he was campaigning. أكثر...
