Tribal elders oppose Shawal?s inclusion in South Waziristan
Addressing the Jirga, Shah Muhammad Khan said that a suggestion was made recently to include the Shawal tehsil of **rth Waziristan in South Waziristan. He said that Shawal was mostly inhabited by the Bakakhel tribe and had been part of **rth Waziristan since long. He said that Shawal was a far-off mountai**us area and it was covered with dense forests. The elder said Shawal lacked roads, hospitals, educational institutions and other facilities. He said the area was underdeveloped and the Tribal people expected the armed forces and government to carry out development work. The elder said most of the tribesmen had moved to Bannu and other parts of the country after the launch of the military operation against the militants. Shah Muhammad said the Tribal people would **t accept the inclusion of Shawal in South Waziristan.
